1. About MOA

      1. About MOA

MOA is a ‘house of art’ set in a country park that exhibits and links three different collections: the biggest and broadest collection of work by Armando, Oud Amelisweerd – one of the country’s Top 100 listed historic buildings – and a collection of unique Chinese and other historic wall coverings.

      2. Coach House and MUSEUM SHOP

Next to the MOA is the coach house, where the museum shop is located as well as the country estate cafe, bakery and Veldkeuken slow food restaurant (www.veldkeuken.nl). The Amelisweerd visitors’ centre is also here with information about the Amelisweerd and Rhijnauwen estates. Lectures are regularly held in the coach house along with other activities and events related to the MOA programme. Please call T +31 30 890 5460 or mail info@moa.nl.
      3. DOCUMENTATION AND KNOWLEDGE CENTRE

De Verdieping is the museum’s documentation and knowledge centre. It houses Armando’s documentary collection and a collection documenting the history of the house’s occupants and wall coverings. The interactive exhibit ‘Oud Amelisweerd: the residents and their wall coverings’ features unique preserved fragments of wall coverings that have adorned the walls of the house over the past 250 years. Visit De Verdieping and discover our documentary collection. will be on hand to help, should you wish. To arrange access for research purposes or to access specific information, contact documentatie@moa.nl, T 030 890 5460.
      4. RECENT HISTORY

Oud Amelisweerd country house was transferred to the management of Stichting Museum Oud Amelisweerd in August 2012, bringing to an end many years of disuse and intermittent occupation. The house and  neighbouring coach house, in which De Veldkeuken restaurant and the museum’s ticket hall and shop houses,  has been restored by Utrecht city council. The Armando Collection, which was formerly housed at the Armando Museum in Amersfoort, has found a worthy home at MOA.
